Rosario Florente Ferrer, lovingly known as Rose, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the age of 90, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on October 1, 1935, in Makati, Philippines, to Pascual Florente and Nicolasa Octaviano, Rose lived a life guided by faith, compassion, perseverance, and a deep commitment to serving others. A resident of Chula Vista, California, she touched many lives through her kindness, generosity, and devotion to her family, friends, and profession.

Rose is lovingly remembered by her children, Maria Connie, Bernadette, and Marcos; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brothers, Marceliano and Richard Florente; her cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Oscar Sr., and her children, Gisela and Oscar Jr.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Josefina Juan, whose loving care, faithful companionship, and support over the past twenty years brought comfort and joy to Rose's life. They also thank Roland Pandolfi, whose kindness, frequent visits, and companionship brought Rose much happiness during her later years.

In the late 1980s, Rose immigrated to the United States. She graduated from Alaminos National High School, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of the Philippines, and later received her Master's Degree in Mental Health & Psychiatric Nursing from Philippine Women's University.

Throughout her distinguished nursing career, Rose served as Director of Nursing, Chief Nurse, and Dean of the College of Nursing. She was respected for her compassionate leadership and lifelong dedication to educating and mentoring future generations of nurses.

Rose treasured life's simple blessings—faith, family, friendship, and service. She found joy in spending time with loved ones, traveling, and creating cherished memories. She especially enjoyed seafood, particularly shrimp and lobster, and treasured the moments spent around the table with family and friends. Her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

A Celebration of Life honoring Rose will be held at Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, California.

If sending flowers, deliveries will only be accepted August 5, 2026.

Family and friends are invited to the graveside service on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., where Rose will be laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park.

Rose will be remembered for her loving heart, gentle spirit, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
