Hello, I am Murt C. Thompson, Jr. -a nephew of Ross- and son of Murt Sr (his brother) and Anne J. Thompson (nee Pernaveau) -both of Rhode Island where I was also born. I knew Ross only when we came from RI to Southern California to live in 1966 making me about 14. I met his two daughters- who pretty much showed me that a girl can do anything - such as teach a guy how to shoot cans off a fence post, feed rabbits and watch out for coyotes and mountain lions on their ranch house in Telegraph Canyon. Ross was an inspiration to me over many years, when my dad had stories of the early days, Ross could fill in the details and so I learned a lot more about the Family and his brothers and one sister Marge. In later years as we all grew up I was travelling first with the USAF and then later on many trips both for business and for rock-climbing and lapidary hobbies, and again Ross had suggestions where I could find things he'd seen! He was always right too! I remember most his laugh, his readiness to help you, his being there for me the year my father passed away (1999) and his calling me to be sure I was okay - not just once but 5 or 6 times as I took care of my mother (who passed in 2004). Ross was one of a kind, a courageous man in a humble demeanor, now gone to the Family as they gather in Heaven. Rest in Peace Uncle Ross!

Sending fond memories of your Dad and mom . They were a sweet, loving , kind and welcoming couple in my life growing up in Chula Vista. My sister Linda loved playing at the home with their two beautiful daughters, Myra and Susan. May they now be together in heaven with our Lord.
Fondly, Diana Dambach McCarroll
