Rufina A. Imperial died last March 17, 2014. Her maiden name was Rufina Blasco Arroyo, born last August 15, 1924 in Baao, Camarines Sur, Philippines. She was married at age 18 to Francisco Brillante Imperial and stayed married for 65 years until the death of her husband in January 31, 2009.
She and her husband had 7 children (2 daughters and 5 sons). She was a doting mother to her children, who have all been successful in their respective family life. Even under very tight economic situation, she made it possible thru the help of her husband, whose job was a bus conductor in the Philippines, to have all their children finish college education.
She was a very religious woman and brought up all the children to the Roman Catholic faith. An avid devotee to the Virgen Mary, Our Lady of Penafrancia, who made it a point to religiously join the penitential dawn procession, together with her children, during the annual celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Penafrancia every 3rd week of the month of September in the Philippines.
