OBITUARY

Sandie Jane Gallagher

March 26, 1962March 14, 2020

It is with great sadness the family of Sandie Hastings-Gallagher announces her passing after a strong 2 year fight against Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, on Saturday March 14th, 2020, at the age of 57. Sandie will be lovingly remembered by her husband John, and her two children, Breana and Daniel. Sandie will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren, Connor, Isaac, Bella and Emmy, by her sisters Cindy Anderson and Melodie (Scott) Webb and her father Barry Hastings. Sandie was predeceased by her mother Donna Hastings.

Sandie was born on March 26th, 1962 in Alhambra, CA and grew up in El Monte & Rosemead. She was educated in the El Monte and Rosemead area schools and attended Rosemead High School. Sandie worked various jobs throughout her young life and made so many lifelong friends along the way. A little secret about Sandie is, she wasn’t much for cooking, but she could bake a mean cake!

Sandie loved her two children first and foremost and treasured every moment with them. However, her favorite role was being a grandma. She lived for the days she could spend with them and made every moment count. She had a vivacious personality and made friends everywhere she went. I think it is safe to say that one of her favorite verses is from Ephesians 4:32 “and be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

Finally, the family asks that you join them in celebrating her life on April 3rd, 2020. Service 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm with a reception to follow 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Service and reception to be held at Glen Abbey’s Little Chapel of the Roses, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, Ca 91902.

Sandie, I'm so happy you came into my life (thanks Bree!) I enjoyed your visits and all the laughs we would have. Thank you for taking J in as one of your grandchildren! He absolutely loves you, "I wanna go see gama Sandie" he would say when he knew you were in town! My favorite memory of you is when we went out to dinner to celebrate a birthday for Bree and we sat there and laughed and laughed and laughed so hard we cried! Then we continued our fun shenanigans shopping at target! You fought a tough battle and you fought hard! You knew God was with you the whole time! You are no longer in pain, but you're celebrating with our Lord and Savior. I love you!!! Love Sabrina, Chris, and Jason

So many memories!!! You watched my husband David as a kid. He watched your kids when they were young. You sang at mine and David's wedding. We coordinated weddings together. You were there when our girls were born and now they will both be graduating high school in June! I've loved following all the adventures you, Bree and the kids have taken over these last several years!!! I'm glad we got to see each other within the last year- even if only for a few minutes and share a church service together!!! I will see you again sister!!!!

Sandie we have known each other for over 45 years my loyal and best friend. I have seen you raise your kids and see your grand babies. There no words to express how wonderful and vibrant warrior , fighter you were that alone gave me encouragement and I am so blessed that you are now RIH. Until we meet again my sweet friend.

Sometimes there are no words that can be wrote or said that can replace what’s lost. To you Bree and Daniel, your loved beyond words. Your mom will live on in all our memories. To her husband, sorry I haven’t meant you. Thank you for taking care and being there for her. She truly gave everything for everybody. Will miss you Cousin Sandy.
