Born in 1939, in Nueva Ecija, Philippines, Sonny lived through the Japanese occupation as a young child—an experience that shaped his resilience and character throughout his life. As a young man, he chose to join the United States Navy, volunteering during the Vietnam War out of a strong sense of service and adventure. He sought opportunity and a better life for himself and his family while proudly serving his adopted country.
Sonny dedicated 20 years to the U.S. Navy and retired as a proud veteran. During his military career, he was stationed in Guam and San Diego, experiences that became meaningful chapters in his life. Following his retirement from active duty, he continued his work through Navy Public Works, remaining dedicated to public service throughout his professional life.
Outside of work, Sonny found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved bowling, took pride in gardening, and was an enthusiastic fan of football and basketball.
Above all, Sonny loved his wife and children deeply and adored his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He cherished time spent with his family. Sonny is survived by his loving wife, his son, his daughter and five grand children.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and veteran whose quiet strength and enduring love will never be forgotten.
