OBITUARY

Sixto E. Agagas

August 6, 1924July 6, 2011

Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Sixto Erazo Agagas was no exception. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Sixto will be remembered as a very exceptional person. Sixto’s life journey began on August 6, 1924. He first greeted the world in Candelaria, Zambalas, Philippines. His parents’ names were Pedro Bactad Agagas and Rosa Erazo Agagas. Sixto was raised with ten brothers and sisters; Dominador, Saturino, Euphemia, Victoria, Agrifino, Marcelina, Romulo, Virgilio, Leonardo and Zenaida. Sixto was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his family, sharing many life experiences over the years. Falling in love is a huge milestone for any person. Just knowing that you have met that special someone is a magical feeling. Sixto experienced that with Conmemoracion Atrero and the couple exchanged wedding vows on May 11, 1946. The wedding took place in the Candelaria Parish Church in Candelaria, Zambalas. Empathic and loyal, Sixto was committed to making his new family happy for the next 59 years. While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Sixto and Conmemoracion were blessed with 10 great children, Leo, Carmelita, Dolores, Elpidio, Florence, Maria, Clara, Consolacion, Joselyne and Marcos. Sixto was an amazing and hardworking father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs, raising his children in a positive and nurturing environment. Later on in life, Sixto was blessed with the gift of 30 grandchildren and 26 great- grandchildren. How a person performs in the workplace can be a reflection on how they live their life. Fortunately, Sixto enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Sixto worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his occupation as a baker for 30 years. A person's hobbies often mirror who they have become. Sixto enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including gardening, fishing, watching sports, baking, farming, cooking, carpentry, basket making and fish net making.. He was usually willing to share his interests with others. Sixto left us on July 6, 2011. He passed away in National City, California. He was 86 years old. He is survived by Brother Virgilio; his sisters, Marcelina and Zenaida; his children, Leo, Carmelita, Dolores, Elpidio, Florence, Maria, Clara, Consolacion, Joselyne and Marcos; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A funeral service was held at The Little Chapel of the Roses in Bonita, California on Thursday, July 14th at 10:00am in the morning. Sixto was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California. Simply stated, Sixto was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Sixto leaves behind a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Sixto touched will always remember Sixto with a smile.
