Socorro C. Cuenca

Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Socorro Custodio Cuenca was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Socorro will be remembered as a very exceptional person.

Socorro was born on November 12, 1924 at Bacoov, Cavite, Philippines to Macavia and Miguel Custodio. Decedent was raised in Cavite, Philippines along with her sisters Remedios, Regina, Anita, Natividad, Estela and her brothers Guillermo and Reynoso.

Socorro exchanged wedding vows with Crispin R. Cuenca at Iglesia Ni Cristo in Cavite, Philippines in 1942. Empathic and loyal Socorro was committed to making her new family happy.

While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately the same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Socorro was blessed with 6 daughters; Erlinda, Editha, Elenita, Flordeliza, Rubina, Margarita and 4 sons; Fidel, Roger, Ferdie and Baltazar. Socorro did her best to fulfill her children’s needs, raising them in a positive and nurturing environment.

Socorro enjoyed her leisure time in “reading pocket books, watching tv and shopping.

Socorro passed away due to Natural Causes on August 12, 2016. She is survived by her children, her 29 grandchildren and her 12 great-grandchildren. She leaves many other family members and friends to cherish her memory.

Services for Socorro C. Cuena are being handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A visitation is going to be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Glen Abbey’s Little Chapel of Roses in Bonita, California. The Funeral Service is going to be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Socorro will be laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California on Friday, August 19, 2016.

Simply stated, Socorro was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. She leaves behind the legacy of a loving family, life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
