

Sofia was born on October 1, 1917 in Nayarit, Mexico. She was the Daughter of Juan Ramirez and Juana Morales. Sofia lost her mother two months after her birth. Raised by her father, Sofia grew up in Mazatlan, Mexico.
Sofia was raised with seven siblings. She had four sisters, Teresa, Maria, Modesta and Susana, and three brothers, Francisco, Meliton and Heliodoro. Sofia and her siblings were usually involved in all sorts of activities and they shared many life experiences over the years.
In 1942 Sofia exchanged wedding vows with Delmar Pensinger. Sofia lost Delmar six years later and became a widow in 1948. In 1961 married Victor Easton, and they later divorced.
Sofia worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Sofia was blessed with four children. She had three daughters, Blanca Delia, Nancy and Sofia Elva, and one son Rodolfo. Another blessing for Sofia was the gift of ten grandchildren eighteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Fortunately, Sofia enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Sofia worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was as a Supervisor in uniform industry supplies. She was employed for twenty years. Sofia excelled as a team leader, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Sofia enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. In her early years, her favorite pursuit was swimming. Sofia was a strong swimmer, often swimming in the ocean off of Mazatlan. Another hobbie was writing beautiful poems, and she also loved to read. Sofia was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Sofia’s faith was important to her. Her strong faith in God and her children helped make her firm, loving and strong. Her life was a hard one, from losing her mother as an infant to losing her husband in 1948. Sofia had to work hard for her children, and she was one of the strongest women out there. At eighty years old, Sofia went back to school, received her high school diploma, and finished first in her class of 1997.
Due to illness, Sofia passed away on August 13, 2013 in San Diego, California. She is survived by her children, Rodolfo, Blanca Delia, Nancy and Sofia Elva, Her grandchildren, Blanca, Nancy, Carolyn, Delmar, Julian, Jose, Marlyn, Jason, Glen and Liza, her great grandchildren, Mayren, Ricardo, Aldo, Nelson, Diego, Renata, Adam, Devon, Taylor, Lane, Shayne, Jade, Ivana, Luciana, Karen, Michelle, Angel and Chandler, and great great grandchildren Jeremy and Zoey.
Services were held Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at the Little Chapel of the Roses, Bonita, California. Sofia was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park, Bonita California.
Simply stated, Sofia was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Sofia leaves behind her the legacy her family, of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Sofia Easton.
