Stephanie Ann Moats

Stephanie was born in Warren, Ohio to Jeff and Valerie Bona on November 5th, 1995. Stephanie grew up in Coronado, CA. where she loved spending time outdoors with her friends, cheering for the Coronado Islanders, and playing musical instruments like her guitar and piano.

She attended Silver Strand Elementary, Coronado middle school, and graduated with the class of 2014 at Coronado High School. During that time, she developed lifelong friendships and an appreciation for the arts. Stephanie attended San Francisco State University where she continued to cheer, and joined a sorority before transferring to San Diego State University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2019.

In 2016, Stephanie met her husband Dakota Moats in San Diego, CA. They married later that year on November 23, 2016 in San Diego, CA. In 2020 they moved to Honolulu, Hawaii where Dakota would be stationed for the next 3 years. They went on to have a beautiful daughter named Adalyn Jane Moats on April 11, 2021. The following year in 2022, they found out they were going to be expanding their family with welcoming their second daughter Ivy Elaine on February 17th, 2023.

Stephanie loved being a wife and mother, as well as being a cat mom to August, Janie and Arthur. Her smile could brighten a room, and her generosity and selflessness proved mighty in the face of despair. She was naturally beautiful, and her soul mirrored that image. She has touched so many in her lifetime, and many more will know her name when she reaches our loved one up above. Stephanie will continue to be a great mother to her daughter Ivy, and will watch over her family and first daughter Adalyn.

Stephanie and Ivy are survived by her husband Dakota Moats and daughter Adalyn Moats of Honolulu, Hawaii. Parents Jeff and Valerie Bona of Winchester, California. Brother Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Bona and nephew Hunter Bona of Jacksonville, Florida. Grandma Linda Moening of Chula Vista, California. Aunt Bridget (George) Flores of Chula Vista, California. Aunt Jennifer Perry of Girard, Ohio. Uncle Jason (Jennifer) Bona of St. Petersburg, Florida, and many cousins and friends from elsewhere.

Ivy is also survived by her loving father Dakota Moats and sister Adalyn Moats of Honolulu, Hawaii. Paternal grandparents Deborah (Joseph) Miller of Windsor, Pennsylvania, Ricky (Annemarie) Moats of York, Pennsylvania. Aunt MaKenna (Adam) Landsiedel of York, Pennsylvania. Great grandma Pauline Fink of York, Pennsylvania, and great grandma Jandy Sue Fink of York, Pennsylvania.

They are proceeded in death by Stephanie’s grandparents Steve Jr. & Annabelle Bona. Grandpa Edward Perry. Grandpa Paul Moening. Uncle Edward Perry. Ivy’s paternal grandpa’s Larry Fink and Harold Moats. Also Stephanie’s cat Maui.
