Thomas Lester Blackmon Sr

He was born on May 12,1938 to Lester and Pauline Lee Blackmon in Johnston County, Blackmon's Crossroads Area, Four Oaks, NC. A Graveside Service will be held at Glen Abbey Mortuary. Add Link to website here

Survivors of Mr. Blackmon include his wife Sadie C. Blackmon; son, Tom Blackmon, Jr. Daughter in law, Judi Blackmon and grandchildren Zachary Penney, Trevor Blackmon and Kevin Blackmon.

Mr. Blackmon was preceded in death by his parents; Lester and Pauline Blackmon, son; Steven Blackmon, brother; Roby H. Blackmon, sisters; Vennie Hinnant, Hilda Worsham, Grace McLamb, Margie Mae Blackmon, Marveline Lee and Norma Grey Blackmon.

Mr. Blackmon graduated from Four Oaks High School in 1956 and from NC State University in 1960. He attended Officer Candidate School in Newport Rhode Island and was augmented to the US Navy in 1962, serving for 30 years before retiring as a US Navy Captain.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lees Chapel Advent Christian Church C/O Brickie Allen 3689 Stricklands Crossroads Rd. Four Oaks, NC 27524.

A graveside service for Thomas will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.
