

Tomas P. Balajadia was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Tomas will be remembered as a very exceptional person. Tomas was born on December 4, 1928 in Yona, Guam. He was the son of Pedro I. and Rosa P. Balajadia. Tomas grew up in Yona, Guam. Tomas was raised with seven siblings. He had brothers Pete, Joe, Jesus (Chu), Ben,Tony, Manuel and Frank and sisters Terry and Maria. Tomas was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings shared many life experiences over the years.
In 1951 Tomas exchanged wedding vows with Guadalupe Rivera in San Diego, California. Empathic and loyal, Tomas was committed to making his new family happy. Tomas worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Tomas was blessed with one child, one son David. Another blessing for Tomas was the gift of three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Fortunately, Tomas enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Tomas worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. Tomas was in The United States Navy for 22 years. Through his hard work, he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was also employed by Public Work Center and the Navy Commissary. Tomas always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Tomas enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were playing Golf. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others. Tomas’s faith was important to him. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Tomas passed away on December 26, 2012 at home in Bonita California. Tomas died of natural causes. He is survived by his wife Guadalupe Balajadia, his son David Balajadia, his daughter in law Kathy Balajadia, his granddaughters Annette Balajadia and Lupe Balajadia, Grandson David Balajadia Jr., and six great grandchildren. Services were held at Glen Abbey Memorial Chapel and Corpus Christ Catholic Church. Tomas was laid to rest on January 3, 2013, in Glen Abbey Memorial Park, Bonita California.
Simply stated, Tomas was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Tomas leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Tomas P. Balajadia.
