Vernie Brown was born May 6th in Dorothy, West Virginia. She had one brother and seven sisters. Her parents Turner and Letha Hall were evangelists and traveled over different states finally settling in Norman, Oklahoma where she met and married Claude Brown. Their first daughter was born there, then they moved to Southern California.where they had two more daughters.
She was a very active woman, bicycling, Dancing, gardening, quilting and attending church. She became a single Mother at the age of 29 and raised her three daughters on her own..
She had many major medical issues but bounced back each time (I called her the energizer bunny).
She was very frugal and when asked why, she would say she was saving all for her girls. It was frustrating then but now I understand and appreciate what she sacrificed for us.
She is survived by her three daughters: Winnie Brown Krushensky, Kathryn Brown Boone and Nancy Brown Birdsall. Also by 12 Grandchildren, 30 Great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Survived also by three younger sisters.
She was greatly loved and will be very missed.
