

Virginia May Viado, age 49, after battling gall-bladder cancer, passed away at her mother’s home in San Diego on April 24, 2016. She was born on May 30, 1966 in Alexandria, Virginia to Eligio and Amelia (Borillo) Viado. She is the third of four children. Virginia was interested in music from an early age and played the violin, piano, and accordion.
Virginia graduated from Morse High School in 1984. Afterwards, she went on to Cal Poly Pomona and graduated with a degree in City Planning. She was very involved in her profession and worked as a Senior Environmental Planner at AECOM. Virginia was also active in the American Planning Association (APA) having served on the California State Board of Director for years.
Virginia is best known for her love of “everything that is Disney.” She had a large collection of Disney memorabilia that includes animation, artwork, and figurines.
She was preceded in death by her father Eligio, and her aunt Wilihada. Virginia is survived by her mother Amelia, brother Vincent (Judy Gozo), and sister Valerie (Nicholas Schnaufer), in addition to many nephews, nieces, and godchildren.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Virginia touched are invited to the Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Rd, Bonita, CA 91902 at the Main Chapel for viewings on Saturday, May 14 (5:00 - 9:00 PM), and Sunday, May 15 (5:00 - 9:00 PM). Funeral services will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 2643 Homedale St, San Diego, CA 92139 at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Glen Abbey Memorial Park.
