The oldest of seven children, Wilfredo faced profound loss early in life when he lost his parents. In the midst of that hardship, he stepped forward as the leader of his family—steady, loyal, and selfless in the way he carried responsibility with quiet strength. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in engineering, a reflection of his determination and perseverance. He is survived by two remaining siblings, Mercedita Dimaranan and Reymundo Reyes.
Wilfredo devoted 25 years of his working life to Nassco, serving with consistency and dedication. His career stood as a testament to the values he lived by: reliability, loyalty, and a generous willingness to give his best day after day.
Wilfredo met his wife, Bernardita, in a hospital while visiting his brother, who was a patient there. From that beginning grew a marriage of 56 years—marked by enduring devotion, kindness, and the steady grace of two lives shared with purpose and care.
A naturally hospitable presence, Wilfredo found joy in welcoming others. He loved to host and cook, offering warmth not only through meals but through the gentle, kind-hearted way he made people feel at home. He also loved Starbucks and enjoyed being part of “Club Walk” at Plaza Bonita, where simple routines became meaningful moments of fellowship with his friends who were also retirees.
Wilfredo’s faith and service were central to his life. He was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish in Bonita, where he served as an usher, and he was part of the Filipino Cursillo movement of San Diego. He was dedicated to serving in the annual medical mission sponsored by Paradise Valley International Medical Mission - giving of himself with generosity and humility, always ready to help and to serve.
Above all, Wilfredo was loved deeply by his grandchildren: Francine, Benjamin, Hayden, and El. His legacy lives on in the love he gave so freely, the loyalty he showed so consistently, and the kind-hearted, selfless spirit that shaped the lives of those who were fortunate to know him. He is survived by his wife, Bernardita Bernal Reyes, and children, Clarissa Reyes Falcon and husband Michael Falcon; eldest son, Wilber B. Reyes and wife Concepcion B. Reyes; and youngest son, Armand B. Reyes.
