Wilfredo “Rocky” Malineza Rocamora, a decorated Navy veteran, successful real estate agent, and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2023, at his home in San Diego, California. He was 83 years old.
Born on July 14, 1940, in Cavite, Philippines, Wilfredo was the eighth of ten children born to Albert and Carina Malineza Rocamora. He immigrated to the United States where his family settled in Salinas, California.
Wilfredo's unwavering commitment to serving his country led him to join the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. Throughout his distinguished 26-year career, he rose to the rank of Senior Chief, earning numerous accolades for his dedication and expertise. He moved his family to San Diego in 1970 when he was stationed on the USS Tripoli. The family remained in San Diego as he alternated between serving at Balboa Naval Hospital, and serving aboard ship.
Following his retirement from the Navy, Wilfredo embarked on a successful career in real estate, establishing offices in both National City, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Wilfredo is survived by his children with his former wife, Lucina Rocamora (passed in 2004):
Daughters Casilda Dueñas (sp Ricardo White-Eagle), Adelaida Mooney (sp John Mooney) and Miranda Osantowski. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Cailée Dueñas, Zane, Madison, and Gillian Mooney, and Gavin Mahlman. In addition to his immediate family, Wilfredo is survived by his siblings Manuel Rocamora, Zenaida Rocamora, Casilda Tacdol,and Albert (Sim) Rocamora. Wilfredo was also a loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A viewing and Masonic Service will be held at Glen Abbey in Bonita on November 16 from 4-7pm
Funeral services will be held on November 17, 2023, at 10am at St. Rita's Church in San Diego, California.
Burial will be at the Miramar National Cemetery on November 21.
