Wilihada B. Borillo

Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Wilihada Bersamin Borillo was no exception. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Wilihada will be remembered as a very exceptional person.

Wilihada’s life journey began on November 8th, 1930. She first greeted the world in Bangued, Abra, Philippines. Her parents' names were Ambrosio Borillo and Juana Bersamin. She was raised in Bangued with one sister named Amelia.

Wilihada attended and graduated from Abra High School in 1948 and later continued her education by attending the University of the Philippines where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and Education in 1959.

Fortunately, Wilihada enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Wilihada worked diligently and did her best to succeed in each of her careers. While she worked several jobs over her life, Wilihada’s primary occupation was working as a Quality Control Inspector for General Dynamics. She was employed for over 20 years. Seeing as education was also a vital aspect of Wilihada's life, she taught at various schools including the University of Pangasinan, Roges High School, Sacred Heart Academy and Abra National Trade School.

Like all people, Wilihada had her favorite things in life. Wilihada loved spending her free time gardening, reading, cooking and traveling. Wilihada was also active in her community and felt fulfilled by being a Philanthropic Charity Benefactor.

Sadly, Wilihada Borillo passed away on May 10th, 2011 in San Diego, California. She is survived by her loving sister Amelia Viado, nephew Vincent Viado; niece Virginia Viado; niece Valerie Schnaufer and husband Nick; her grand nephews Garrett and Gabriel Schnaufer; as well as many other loved ones. A Funeral Mass was held for Wilihada on May 21st, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church. She was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.

Simply stated, Wilihada was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Wilihada leaves behind her a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Wilihada Bersamin Borillo touched will always remember her with a smile.
