

Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. William James Ellsworth was no exception. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, William will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
William’s life journey began on June 9, 1937. He first greeted the world in Ohio. His parents' names were William Adelbert Ellsworth and Violet Mae Gemmill. He was raised in Hudson, Ohio with one sibling, Charles Blackburn. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1955 and continued his education by attending GMIT Technical College in Flint, Michigan where he earned his two year degree in 1957.
Falling in love is a huge milestone for any person. Just knowing that you have met that special someone is a magical feeling. William experienced that with Sharon Rowe and the couple exchanged wedding vows on December 17, 1964. The wedding took place in Ukiah, California. Empathic and loyal, William and Sharon shared many loving years of marriage.
While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. William was blessed with three children, Kimberly, Lisa and William Jr. William worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs, raising his children in a positive and nurturing environment.
Later in life, William was blessed with the gift of three grandchildren, Timothy, Laureana and Daniel.
How a person performs in the workplace can be a reflection on how they live their life. Fortunately, William enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, William worked diligently and did his best to succeed in each of his careers. William honorably served in The United States Army and National Guard. He later enjoyed working as a supervisor for the City of San Diego Police Automotive Department.
William enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including fixing anything, listening to jazz and gardening. He was always willing to share his interests with others.
William Ellsworth left us on August 6, 2011. He passed away in Chula Vista, California due to congestive heart failure. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon; his children Kimberly, Lisa and William Jr.; and his grandchildren Timothy, Laureana and Daniel. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A Memorial Service was held at The Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel on August 14, 2011. William was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
Simply stated, William was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a loving father, grandfather and friend. William leaves behind him a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life William James Ellsworth touched will always remember him with a smile.
