Connie was raised in South Holland, Illinois from an early age. There she met Dan Ward, and the two were married for 65 beautiful years. Connie was first and foremost a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her greatest pride and joy. Connie also gave her time to her church, many civic associations, her childrens' schools and activities, and Bethshan Association where she served as President of the Women's Auxiliary for many years.
She is survived by her husband, She is survived by her husband, Dan Ward; children Scott (Debi), Craig, and Jori; grandchildren Paige, Logan, Elle, and Ava; and sister Beverly (Hugh) Flisyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Martha (Rietveld) Den Besten, and her brothers, Kenneth Den Besten and Keith Den Besten.
Private services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, Florida.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any consideration for donations be made in Connie's memory to Bethshan Association of Palos Heights, Illinois or The American Cancer Society.
