Donald James Blake

Don was born in Berkeley, CA to Alan Blake and Lavina Sherwood on September 28, 1950. He went to school in Concord, CA. He married JoAnn Marullo on August 24, 1990, in Utica, NY. Don worked as a Real Estate Appraiser and formed his own company, Picket Fence Appraisals, in both New York and Florida. Don was a workaholic and loved what he did for 32 years. He received numerous achievement awards for excellence in his field. He was a generous benefactor to the Golisano Children’s Hospital for many years and was a member of Springs Outdoor Church in Bonita Springs.

A car enthusiast, Don could tell you the make, model, and year of anything on the road. He loved sharing “car” moments with his grandchildren.

Don is preceded in death by his mother and father and sisters, Susan and Sandra.

Don was often characteristically quiet and reserved but had a fantastic sense of humor. This endeared him to those closest to him with inside jokes that will remain in the hearts and minds of those he left behind.

Don is survived by his wife, JoAnn; sons, Christopher Blake and Kevin Blake; stepson, Frederick Stellato; brother, Richard Blake; and Don’s precious grandchildren, Abraham (Sarah) Stellato, Victor (Liz) Stellato, and Isabel Stellato.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held in January, 2027.

Arrangements are by Hodges Life Celebration Center.
