Marvin Borecky, 87, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026. He was born on October 6, 1938, in Chicago, IL a son to Steve and Martha Borecky. Marvin was originally from Cicero, IL then moved to Brookfield, IL where he began his family life. Marvin lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to his family.

Marvin and Carole shared an extraordinary marriage of 63 years. Their bond was filled with love, laughter and countless memories. Marvin affectionately called Carole “Sweetie,” a testament of their enduring connection. Together, they created warm and loving homes in Illinois and Florida with their family.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife Carole Borecky; his sister Marlene Kenealy and nieces Becky, Arrie and Tammy. He was a devoted father to his daughters Cynthia Bly-Hemphill and Kimberly Deering (spouse Robert); as well a proud grandfather; known as “Papa” to granddaughter Leeann Bly; grandsons Robert Deering and Matthew Deering; as well as extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Martha Borecky.

Marvin proudly served his country in the Army before embarking on a long career as a Mason Plastering Foreman with William A. Duguid and Company in Illinois, plastering and stucco construction and started his own company C&K Plastering. He was a member for many years with Union Local 502, in Illinois along with his career. Then after moving to Florida his career until his retirement, and then still working part time, was at Taylor and Crowe Battery Company in Florida as a Driver with a Class A CDL with hazmat endorsement.

Marvin had an innate ability to connect with people; he could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. His warmth and humor left lasting impressions on those who knew him. He also enjoyed fishing and embraced the Florida lifestyle. Many of his happiest moments were spent on the boat fishing and many other cherished family holidays and celebrations.

Marvin will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him and his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Carole Borecky at 12340 Notting Hill Lane Unit 22, Bonita Springs, FL 34135, which the family will include charities and among others all facilities involved in taking care of Marvin.

Marvin's life will be honored, at a private service, with his family.
