Obituary of Michael Gerard Melody
IN THE CARE OF

Hodges Life Celebration Center

Michael G. Melody, 56, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on April 21, 2026.

Born in the Bronx and raised in Chester, New York, Michael fulfilled his childhood dream of moving to Florida in 2000. There, he built a life centered around sunshine, salty air, and open roads; spending countless days at the beach, boating in the Gulf, and taking spontaneous road trips that reflected his adventurous spirit.

A natural people person, Michael was often the life of the party. His larger-than-life presence, generous heart, and unmistakable booming laugh could fill any room and lift the spirits of everyone around him. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. His bold, unfiltered personality made him unforgettable to all who crossed his path.

Michael took great pride in his work as an electrician. Over the years, he built a reputation for craftsmanship, dedication, and integrity; qualities reflected in the many projects he contributed to and in the business he founded, Melody Maintenance. He cherished the friendships he formed throughout his career and valued the hard work and camaraderie that came with the trade.

Family was the center of Michael’s world. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a caring son, and a loyal brother. At home, he found joy in simple moments; grilling in the backyard, gathering with loved ones, and creating memories that will be treasured forever. He also made it a priority to stay connected with family in New York, traveling for graduations, christenings, and even surprising them with unannounced visits that became beloved stories.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Hiromi; his sons, Richard and Michael; his father and stepmother, Gerard and Linda; his brother, Christopher (Lisa); his sister, Jennifer (Tim); loving nieces and nephews and father and mother-in-law, Takeshi and Kyoko. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia.

Michael’s spirit, laughter, and love will continue to echo in the lives of all who knew him. May he Rest in Peace.
