Robert John Melleky

Robert (Bob) was born in Elizabeth, NJ on January 7, 1935, to the late John and Mildred Melleky. After serving in the U.S. Army, he raised a family in Linden, NJ, with his late wife, Kathleen (Kathy),

Initially working with his grandfather and father, Bob ran the family steeplejack business, John Melleky & Son, installing and maintaining many of the flagpoles in New York City.

Since he and Kathy loved the beach and golfing, they later retired to Ocean Isle Beach, NC, and lived there for 20 years. Following Kathy’s passing, Bob moved to the Naples/Fort Myers, FL area to be closer to his children.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, John Melleky of Bonita Springs, FL; his daughter, Maureen Melleky (Deb Olson) of Killingworth, CT; and Bob’s sisters, Janet (deceased), and Carol, along with his nieces and nephews.
