Alma Bell Gardner Wilson, 101, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018. She was born September 25, 1917 to William Flournoy and Leoma Hightower Gardner in Wheeler, MS and she was a 1936 graduate of Wheeler High School. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and playing games with her grandchildren. She was member of Wheeler United Methodist Church, a homemaker, a Headstart/Kindergarten teacher, and a Brown Shoe Factory employee.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Friday, November 2nd at McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 3rd at McMillan Funeral Home with grandsons Rev. Alan Wilson officiating and Zack Wilson eulogizing. Burial will follow at the New Site Cemetery.

Survivors include: two sons, Max Ellis (Judy) Wilson of Olive Branch and George Wayne (Karen) Wilson of Wheeler; six grandchildren, Alan (Lisa) Wilson of Olive Branch, Brent (Rebecca) Wilson of Madison, Zack (Amy) Wilson of Franklin, TN, Rachel (Neil) Segars of Henderson, TN, Tyler (Lauren) Wilson of Nashville, TN, and Lee (Julie) Wilson of Franklin, TN; nine great-grandchildren, Billy (Annie Grace), Alyssa and Angel Wilson of Olive Branch, Emma and Mary T. Wilson of Madison, MS, Hannah, Hugo, Hogan, Harper Bell and Heyward Wilson of Franklin, TN, Leo Segars of Henderson, TN, William “Liam” Wilson of Nashville, TN, and Aubrey and Ellis Kate Wilson of Franklin, TN; Fred (Ann) Hall who was like a son of Jacksonville, FL; and, a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Ellis Wayne Wilson, parents, a brother John Hightower Gardner and a sister Evelyn Gardner Wilson.

Pall bearers will be her grandsons Brent, Tyler and Lee Wilson, grandson-in-law Neil Segars, and grand-nephews Larry and Brian Loague.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wheeler United Methodist Church building fund, P.O. Box 59, Wheeler, MS 38880 or a charity of choice.
