Bernice Parnell

Bernice “Sissy” Weeks Parnell, 96, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Booneville. She was born September 26, 1918, to Quay and Willmetta Bartlett Weeks. She was a graduate of Wheeler High School, and a Baptist. She enjoyed cooking, watching humming birds and all kinds of flowers.

A celebration of her life will be at 6:30 P.M. Thursday, October 23, 2014, at McMillan Funeral Home with Minister Jim Estes officiating and her nephew, Larry Nesler delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in Box’s Chapel Cemetery.

She is survived by a sister, Marty Massey; two nephews, Gary (Jennifer) Nesler and Larry Nesler; great-nieces and nephews, Brandon (Kristi) Nesler, Barrett (Rivers) Nesler, Ryan Nesler, Kelley Nesler, Lorie Prichard, Lisa Yates and Nick Stoop.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Robert Orville Weeks and Junior Weeks.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 6:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
