Billy F. Basden, 77, died Saturday, September 3, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was born September 8, 1933, to Fred and Mattie Mae Basden. He was a member of Lamb’s Chapel Church. He became disabled while working for North American Pipe. He was an insurance salesperson, worked for 13 years at Brown Shoe, and he farmed and raised cattle. He enjoyed fishing, his friends and most of all he loved his family.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 5, 2011, at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rodney Brazil and Bro. Jack Whitley, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Martin Hill Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bobbie Sue Jackson Basden; two sons, Ronnie Basden and Ricky (Tammy) Basden; one sister, Juanita Smith of Molton, AL; one brother, Claude (Foy) Basden of Mooreville; one grandson, Dacoda (Leah) Basden; one granddaughter, Christy Basden; and one great-granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and four sisters.
Pallbearers will be Terry Fleming, Teddy Hewerdine, Michael Stephens, Phillip Jackson, Freddy Mayo, Kenny Jackson and special friend, Casey Jackson.
