Branard Stevens, 88, was born February 9, 1930, to Archie and Annie Stevens and passed away December 3, 2018, at Cornerstone Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Corinth. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 63 years- Nett, and four siblings: Margie Stevens Cole, Eston Stevens, Junior Stevens, and Dewayne Stevens. He is survived by four children: Keith Stevens (Karen) of Rienzi, Regina Preston (Don) of Lynchburg, TN, Kevin Stevens, and Kendall Stevens both of Booneville; one brother Raver Stevens (Ann) of Booneville; his caretaker, Belinda Cook of Burnsville; and many friends and extended family. He was loved by four grandchildren Jody Preston, Karrie Beth Stevens, Leah Stevens, and Lainey Stevens; and four great-grandchildren Daisy, Josi, Trenton, and Carson.
Branard and Nett resided in the Altitude community to raise their family. He was a member of Smith Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He spent his career working for the Big V and New Candler water system for 25 years, as well as plumbing and electrical work and raising cattle. He taught his children many trades and the value of hard work. Papa, as his grandchildren called him, spent his spare time with his grandkids feeding the cows, riding the four-wheeler, and visiting around the breakfast table. Many memories were made with Jody at the stock car races and watching his girls play ball.
A celebration of life service will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at McMillian Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Tim Blakney officiating. Burial will be in the Jacinto Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Jody Preston, Marlin Cox, Jarrod Holloway, Bob Maddox, Gerald Stevens, and Michael Stevens.
Visitation will be before the funeral on Tuesday, starting at 1:00 at the funeral home.
