Brenda Sue Wooten Hastings

Brenda Sue Hastings, 56, of Thrasher, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born January 19, 1955, to Walter “Butch” and Darlene Gann Wooten, she was employed by North Mississippi Medical Center for over twenty-five years. During her career, she was a dedicated, caring nurse analyst and was previously an oncology nurse. She was also an active member of Thrasher Baptist Church, where she was a prayer warrior. She loved spending time with her family and friends, knitting scarves for loved ones, riding horses with her husband, gardening, and reading.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, January 13, 2012 at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Randy Bostick and Bro. Doug Rakestraw officiating. Burial will be in the Jumpertown Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Hastings; two daughters, Jaclyn (Justin) Barnett of Olive Branch and Amber (Josh) McGuire of Booneville; a son, Jesse Hastings of Thrasher; a sister, Patsy (Roger) Wanner of Belmont; two brothers, Ricky Wooten of McAllen, TX and Terry (Melissa) Wooten of Iuka; and a granddaughter, Addison McGuire.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 5-9 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2012 and until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
