Born to Irene Browder of Finger, Tennessee, and Jack Wilson of Prentiss County, Mississippi, Brenda grew up in Wheeler, MS, the youngest of nine siblings. She attended Wheeler High School. Later in life she attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and built a dedicated career with Subway.
Brenda was married to George Houston Pharr for 45 years until his passing in 2017. Together, they cherished their retirement years, spending time with their grandchildren, cooking, and riding four-wheelers. In 2022, Brenda married JW Jacobs. They enjoyed traveling, discovering new restaurants, and staying active in veterans’ activities.
A woman of strong faith, Brenda was deeply involved in her Connection Group at East Booneville Baptist Church, where she built many lasting friendships.
A celebration of life will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Wilson, Bro. Steve Howell and Bro. Tim Hankins officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at McMillan Funeral Home.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, George Pharr; parents, Irene and Jack Wilson; her siblings, Mary Lou Jones, Mae Eldridge, Jo McElroy, Lorene Stokes, Gail Wilson, Thomas Wilson, James Wilson, and Kenneth Wilson.
She is survived by her second husband, JW Jacobs; her children, Mitzi (Tracy) Cox and Nathan (Dynisha) Pharr; her stepdaughter, Kristi (Edward) McDonald; her grandchildren, Lindsey (Alex) Ward, Levi (Haley) Cox, Peyton Pharr, and Millee Pharr; and her great-grandchildren, Marley Ward, George August Ward, and Maggie Cox.
Brenda will be remembered for her warm heart, devotion to family, and joy for life’s simple pleasures. Her love and laughter will continue to live on in all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Tiger Den Coffee Club Members, and Billy Boldon and Charles King.
