James Fred “Bud” Green, 82, passed away February 22, 2019, at the Landmark Community in Booneville. He was born June 28, 1936, to Joe and Delia Ledbetter Green of Jumpertown. He graduated from Jumpertown High School with the class of 1955.

For most of his life, he farmed the land that has been in his family for generations. Beginning in 1995, and for the next 12 years, Bud proudly served the people of Prentiss County as Circuit Clerk. This was a truly joyous job for him. A lifelong Methodist, Bud wad a faithful member of Jumpertown United Methodist Church. He was an active Farm Bureau Board of Directors member, and a proud 32nd degree Mason.

A celebration of life service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 24, 2019, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Trey Lambert and Bro. Tim Green officiating. Burial will be in Jumpertown Cemetery.

He is survived by three children, Tommy Green of Tupelo, Rose Anne (Eddie) Parker of Collierville, TN and Emily (Charles) Pollard of Booneville; four grandgirls, Mary Dalton Parker, Caroline Parker, Anne Thomas Green and Harper Pollard; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 40 years, Frances Oakley Green; his parents; five sisters, Ruby Smart, Frances Moore, Gladys Brown, Myrtle Blassingame and Mae Dean Lambert; three brothers, Harvey Green, Wallis “Hoss” Green and Bobby Green.

Pallbearers are his much loved nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jumpertown United Methodist Church, 888 Hwy 4 West, Booneville, MS 38829.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the church.
