
Cecil Eugene Palmer, 81, died May 7, 2011, at his home in Madison, MS. He was born in Columbia, MS, the second son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Carl (Mildred) Palmer. He graduated from Hattiesburg High. After serving in the Air Force, he returned to MS and graduated with a degree in civil engineering. The majority of his career was spent with Michael Baker, Jr. Inc. as a project engineer and Vice President. Throughout his career, he and his family have lived in New Mexico, Arizona, Kansas, Alaska, Oklahoma, and Mississippi. After retiring from Michael Baker, he worked for the City of Madison until his retirement in 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Ann (Robertson) formerly of Booneville; daughters: Cindy Heffner, Dawn (Randall) DeArmond; sons Chris (Bridgette) Palmer and Greg Palmer; sister Jena Lewis of Pensacola, FL; grandsons Palmer and Andrew DeArmond; granddaughters Jennifer (Trey) Miller, Staci Myrick, Lili and Addi Palmer; great granddaughters Maddi Welch, Mazzi Miller, Megan Miller, and Reagan Moss.
Memorial service will be held at Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson on Tuesday. Visitation is 1-3:00 pm. The service will start at 3:00 pm.
Graveside services will be 3:30 pm Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Booneville Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-3:00 pm Wednesday at McMillan Funeral Home. McMillan Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
