Charles Lyle Bullock, 62, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017, at his home. He was born July 11, 1955, to Dewain and Louise Bullock. He was a lifelong resident of the Dry Creek Community. He was a 1973 graduate of Pine Grove High School. After graduation he enlisted in the Mississippi National Guard. He was part of Company B1 of the 198th. He was part of the crew that cleared the right of way for the Natchez Trace Parkway. He later became an employee of the Facility Operations Department of NMMC in Tupelo. He recently received his 40 years of service plaque. He was president of Dry Run Hunting Club. He was an active trader at First Monday in Ripley, and was the owner and operator of Lyle’s Tack Shack. He was a lifelong member of Concord Baptist Church. He actively served and was president of the men’s brotherhood, and was their 2016 Man of the Year. Lyle was an outgoing, hardworking and dedicated man. He enjoyed his horses, loved trail riding, and shooting his guns with his friends. He was the true meaning of a “Paw”. He loved his Friday nights, and all the time he got to spend with his grandson, Blane. He enjoyed going to the tack sales at Bobo’s Horse Barn in Alabama, and Scotts Hill Stockyard in Tennessee. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his helpful will for others, and his ability to make the best poolroom burger around.
A celebration of life service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Walker, Bro. Chuck Boxx and Bro. Rex Bullock officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cindy Boxx Bullock of Dry Creek; one daughter, Heather Bullock Gray of Booneville; special grandson, Blane Roberts of Booneville; two sisters, Kim (Doug) Hargett of Dry Creek and Neda (Mike) Morrison of Dry Creek; two brothers, Tim (Tammy) Bullock of Dry Creek and Rex (Pam) Bullock of Dry Creek; one aunt, Nancy Suzie Yates of Ripley; one uncle, William (Catherine) Yates of Dry Creek; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sharon Bullock Anderson; one brother, Myron bullock; and one aunt, Virginia Grisham.
Pallbearers are Adam Hargett, Corey Hargett, Cody Bullock, Alan Bullock, John Bullock and Daniel Bullock.
Honorary pallbearers are his many special friends, horse riding buddies, fellow employees, and the Facility Operation Staff of NMMC.
Visitation will Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
