

Ellen Mize McVey, 94, died Friday, February 4, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born June 13, 1916 in Prentiss County to the late Clifton and Giffie Flanagan Mize. She was a housewife and the last charter member of the Booneville Church of God. She enjoyed reading her Bible.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2011 at the Booneville Church of God with Bro. James Wells, Bro. Allen Johnson and Bro. Keith Skelton officiating, Burial will follow in the Liberty Memorial Gardens. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by four daughters, Carolyn (Bill) Fuerstenberg of Jamesville, Wisconsin, Peggy (Michael) Land of Navarre, Florida, Wanda (Smith) Brown of Booneville, and Martha Owens of Houston; three sons, Melvin (Sandy) McVey of Ocean Springs, Gary McVey and Edwin (Sherry) McVey, both of Booneville; one sister, Fannie May Singleton of San Antonio, Texas; three brothers, Clifton Mize, Samuel Mize, and Aaron Mize, all of Booneville; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Herman McVey; five sons, Robert Eugene, Kenneth, James, Willard and Lionel Ray McVey; one daughter, Linda Fay McVey; granddaughter, Ellen Pittman; sister, Ruthie Garza; two brothers, Ruben and Crockett Mize.
Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church at 1:00 p.m. Monday.
