Eloise McAnally

Virginia Eloise McAnally, 65, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at her home in the Thrasher Community. She was born August 3, 1946, in Cairo, MS to Rev. James Sidney and Ocene Lambert Whitehead. She started her nursing career at Northeast Mississippi Hospital as a nursing aid in 1966. She graduated the LPN program at Northeast Community College in 1968, ten years later she graduated the RN program at Northeast Mississippi Community College. Later she became Director of Nursing at Oakview Nursing Home in Baldwyn, and then later became Director of Nursing at Aletha Lodge Nursing Home in Booneville. Geriatric nursing was always her favorite field of nursing. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing the piano, knitting, crocheting, and camping with her family. She was a member of Thrasher Baptist Church and Eastern Star.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 25, 2012, at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doug Rakestraw officiating. Burial will be in New Lebanon Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Jim McAnally; her children, Debbie (Chris) Burns, Mark (Charlotte) McAnally and David McAnally; her mother, Ocene Whitehead; a sister, Betty (Ken) Sims; two brothers, Jimmy Dean (Lanna) Whitehead and Ronnie Whitehead; seven grandchildren, JoAnna Ericksen, Amy (Brandon) Baldwyn, Josh McAnally, Tessa Starnes, Brandon McAnally, Seth Burns, and Adam McAnally; and nine great-grandchildren, Braidon Ericksen, Keegan Hamm, Jaleea Gates, Elijah Baldwyn, Isaiah Baldwyn, JennaBeth Starnes, Adyson Starnes, Paisely Edge and Lauren Elise Edge.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. James Sidney Whitehead; and one sister, Lynn Whitehead Stephens.

Pallbearers will be Josh McAnally, Brandon McAnally, Seth Burns, Adam McAnally, Mike McAnally and Kenny Sims.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
