Evelyn Thornton

Evelyn E. George Thornton, 83, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at her home. She was born August 3, 1928, to Thomas Newton and Helen Stokes George. She was a factory worker, and a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Liberty United Methodist Church with Bro. Donnie Riley officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca (Duane) Miller of Bristol, IN; four sisters, Eloise Chisolm of Aberdeen, Peggy Rinehart, Regetta (Lee) Lambert, both of Booneville and Jane Bladden of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Danny George of Booneville; and four grandchildren, Justin, Amanda, Jared and Shayne Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, N.A. Thornton in 1991; a daughter, Sherry Thornton; one son, Terry Thornton; her parents; two sisters, Laverne Martin and Moise Stevens; seven brothers, Charles, Hershel, T.N., Robert, Jack, Lafayette and Johnny George; and her step-mother, Velma George.

Pallbearers are Greg George, Larry George, Gary Pippin, Ronnie Martin, Trey Godwin and Randy Chishlom.
