Irene Prater

Irene “Dean” Stevens Prater, 83, died Friday, February 20, 2015, at her home in Booneville. She was born October 11, 1931, to Lonnie and Nellie Williams Stevens. She was a dorm mother for the University of Arkansas. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching soap operas, and taking care of her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 22, 2015, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Walker officiating. Burial will be in Mormon Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty (John) Nolan of Memphis and Denise Rogers of Booneville; two sons, Sammy Kiggins of Booneville and Jasper Kiggins of Bethel Springs, TN; two sisters, Dorothy (Joe) Lambert of Booneville and Sue (Junior) Morman of Moss Point; five grandchildren, Amber (Cody) Waring, Nathaniel Garner, April (T.J.) Strickland, Misty (Bradley) Eaton and Chelsea Nolan; eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Verna Russell; one brother, Ott Stevens; one son-in-law, Glen Rogers; and one grandson, Daniel Williams.

Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
