

James “Jim/Mac” McWillis Tidwell, 69, died Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born June 2, 1944, to Albert Luther and Eleanor Perry Pickering Tidwell. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a landscape architect, a teacher at Northeast Community College for 10+ years, and a painter. He had several painting exhibits throughout North Mississippi and South Tennessee and a showing soon in Booneville. He was a member of the Mississippi Painters Society and a Baptist.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 10, 2013, at McMillan Funeral Home with Gene Pickering and Jerry Grammer officiating.
He is survived by his sister, Jo Anne Bingham; a brother, Albert “Bert”(Pat) Tidwell; one niece, Meagan Ann Tidwell; two nephews, David M. (Kim) Bingham and Collin Tidwell; and two great-nieces, Bella Abigayle Bingham and Maggie Eleanor Bingham.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Joe Frank Tidwell.
Pallbearers are David Bingham, Collin Tidwell, Justin Taylor and Lucas Ledbetter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House or the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.m. until 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
