Janice Louise Pounds, 78, died Monday, May 11, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born March 21, 1948, to Ough Edward and Myrtle McVey. Janice was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. She worked in the garment industry for almost 50 years. She enjoyed camping, fishing, running trot lines and spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at McMillan Funeral Home with Minister Rickey Green officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
She is survived by three sons, Kerry (Linda) Pounds, Gary Pounds and Danny (Christy) Pounds; one daughter, Lisa (Bob Lewellen) Pounds; one brother, Roundle (Jannie) McVey; two sisters, Betty Pounds and Glenda (Wilford) Pounds; 15 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Ray Pounds; her parents; and one brother, Tommy Ray McVey.
Pallbearers are her grandsons.
