Dr. John I. Jacobs, Sr., 90, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was born March 6, 1923, in Ohio to Thomas and Edna Miller Jacobs. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Booneville for 25+ years. He was a retired Southern Baptist minister and international missionary.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 3, 2014, at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Paul Brown, Bro. Jason Dukes and Mr. Matthew Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Holley Jacobs of Booneville; two sons, John Jacobs, Jr. of Tupelo and Tom (Sandra) Jacobs of Powell, TN; and one grandson, Matthew Jacobs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one sister; and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Hampton.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
