Lera Walker Garvin

Lera Walker Garvin, 93, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Baldwyn Nursing and Rehab Facility. She was born August 1, 1922 to William and Pearl Vest Walker. She was retired from Prentiss Manufacturing and a member of Mt. Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 21, 2015 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Jones and Bro. Danny Short officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Charlotte (Larry) Kelso; and two grandchildren, Patrick (Fiancee Madeline) of Baltimore, MD and Kathryn (William) Gillespie of Worchester, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Prentiss Rubel Garvin; three sisters, Mary Walker, Vivian George, and Lillian Wren; two brothers, Lee and Luther Walker. She was also preceded by her grandpuppy, Ludi.

Visitation will be 5-7pm on Sunday, September 20, 2015, and until service time on Monday at McMillan Funeral Home.
