
Louise Floyd Moore, 90, died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born March 30, 1920 to the late Curtis L. and Mary Lillie Bolton Floyd. She had been a resident of Booneville since 1940 and a resident of Longwood Community Living Center since February, 2004. She had been a high school teacher, social worker with Farmers’ Home Administration, and held various other jobs, as well as being an artist and winning several awards.
She operated Patrick’s Dress Shop for ten years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Booneville since 1946. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree. She did post-graduate work at the George Peabody College in Nashville and also at the University of Alabama.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Lynn Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Rest Cemetery.
She is survived by her three children, Randy Moore of Ft. Worth, Texas, Terry (Susan) Moore of Memphis, and Betty Moore Crotty of Memphis; her brother, Milton (Jauniece) Floyd of Booneville; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Moore Vaught and Jennifer Moore, both of Nashville, Jana Crotty Warren of Jackson, Tennessee, Mandy Crotty Lott of St. Louis, Missouri, and Lisa Crotty Peak of Booneville; three great-grandchildren, Jennifer Hope Peak, Scott Warren, and Sophie Warren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dr. Walton Louis Moore; sister, Mary Helen Jones; brother, Howard Floyd; two grandsons, John Carl Moore and David Wesley Moore.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
