
Mae Brown BALDWYN - Charlotte Mae Geno Brown passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. She was born to Lloyd and Laura Johnson Geno on September 23, 1923, in Alcorn County. She was valedictorian in her graduating class at Jumpertown High School. She married Leonard Edward Brown on December 23, 1946. She worked for Brown Shoe Company in Booneville until its closing and retired from SDI in Baldwyn. She was a longtime member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 2:00Pm Friday, July 11 at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chris Rinehart and Bro. Johnny Hancock officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm and continue until service time. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.
Survivors include her daughter, Sally Brown(Eddie)Prather of Booneville; her son, Eddie (Donna) Brown of Baldwyn; her four grandchildren, Jennifer Prather (Chris) Rinehart of Saltillo, Curt (Natasha) Brown of Baldwyn, Misty Prather (Ian) Siadak of Southaven and Will Brown of Baldwyn; seven great-grandchildren, Jacie, Abby and Jed Rinehart, Jacob, Catelyn, and Caleb Brown and Sam Siadak; one sister, Carolyn Walker and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Leonard on September 8, 1988; one brother, Harry Geno; one sister, Gwen Loveless and her grandparents, Papa and Granny Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Curt Brown, Will Brown, Ian Siadak, Mark Pannell and Gene Witt. Honorary Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, 5195 West Main Street, Tupelo, MS, in her memory. Special thanks to the Sanctuary Hospice House Nurses and Staff.
