

Maxine Merrill McCoy, 82, of Burton died Thursday, September 20, 2012 at The Meadows in Fulton. She was born July 9, 1930, to Paul Otto and Ester Spears Merrill. She was retired from Brown Shoe Company. She was a member of Forked Oak Missionary Baptist Church and the Burton Historical Society.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Saturday, September 22, 2012 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Rickey Johnson and Minister Ron Deaton officiating. Burial will be in Forked Oak Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Vaughanda (Buddy) Hall of Cairo and Sue (Raymon) Carr of Belmont; two sisters, Ruth McCoy of Burton and Genenda Lambert of Iuka; one brother, George Otto (Juanita) Merrill of Mobile; four grandchildren, Craig (Vickey) Hall, Stacey (Philip) Raper, Hope (Tim) Menzel and Brandon (Fiorella) Carr; and five great-grandchildren, Dylan McCalla, Madison McCalla, Paige Hall, Ethan Hall and Avery Hall.
She was preceded in death by her husband Travis O.C. McCoy; her parents; three sisters, Mattie Mae, Mary Pauline, and Kareen Merrill; and one brother, Bobby Cary Merrill.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
