Norris Carey Thornton

Norris Carey Thornton, 68, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born September 23, 1946 to Youl and Edna Thornton. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.

Funeral will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 24, 2014, at the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ Church with Minister Ricky Green and Minister Carl Dunlap officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Church of Christ Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, JoAnn Thornton of New Site; his mother, Edna Thornton of New Site; three sons, Michael (Angie) Thornton, Marlan (Amber) Thornton both of New Site and Raben Thornton of Atlanta, GA; one brother, James (Patricia) Thornton of New Site; five grandchildren Amanda Thornton, Kristin (A.J.) Lambert, Blake (Katherine) Thornton, Kent Thornton and Kenna Thornton; three great grandchildren, Rilyn Lambert, Eva Kate Lambert and Adalyn Hill.

He was preceded in death by his father, Youl Thornton.

Visitation will be from 5-9 Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ Church .
