

Pat was the daughter of R.V. and Mildred Wiggington Crow. She was born in Booneville, Mississippi, on June 17, 1947. She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Tommy Dean Walden, for 48 years. Tommy was her best friend and her rock always. Pat and Tommy were avid Blue Devil and Mississippi State Bulldogs fans. Pat enjoyed antiquing, interior design, and floral design. Pat’s favorite thing to do was to sit in the doorway leading out to the patio holding Tom’s hand and listening to the rain.
A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday, February 23, 2018, at McMillan Funeral Home with Ronald Michael officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00PM to 3:00PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Martin Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Walden of Booneville; one brother, Danny, his wife Rebecca of Clarkville, TN; one niece, Molly Wren, her husband, Chris and one great nephew, Corbin Wren of Booneville; three brothers-in-law, Joe Walden (Barbara), Jerry Walden (Sandra) and Buddy Walden (Carol); and a host of nieces, nephews and a special friend, Vickie King.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Bill and Odein Walden and her favorite aunt, Aunt Polly Wiggington.
Pat graduated from Booneville High School and Mississippi State University, where she received a Bachelor of Secondary Education Degree. She taught at New Site High School and Booneville Middle School for 32 years. She was a very disciplined teacher and has touched the lives of many students. One of her favorite quotes was “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.’’ During her tenure as a teacher, she promoted educational programs at Booneville Middle School, resulting in the annual Cultural Fair that involved students of all grades. She also served as a consultant in making plans for the Booneville Middle School Environmental Center and Auditorium .
Pat leaves a beautiful legacy as a wonderful teacher, friend and wife. She will always be remembered as a true Southern lady in mannerisms, style and hospitality. She was a very private person, but always willing to help anyone in need.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pat Walden Memorial Scholarship Fund at Farmers and Merchants Bank in Booneville, Mississippi.
