Robert J. Wawrzyniak,Sr., 87, died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the V.A. Hospital in Hines, IL. He was born August 6, 1923, in Chicago to John and Rose Kawczynski Wawrzyniak. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed reading, playing chess and sitting in the sun.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Glover officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Garner Wawrzyniak of Cicero, IL; two sons, John Wawrzyniak of Cicero, IL and Rob Wawrzyniak, Jr. of Country Side, IL; one granddaughter, Melissa (Alex) Huerta; and three great-grandchildren, Alex, Ceclia and Isaiah.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Elaine Stanislaw.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at the funeral home.
