Verlon Geneva Padgett

Verlon Geneva Padgett, 100, died Sunday, September 16, 2012, at home. She was born August 19, 1912 to John and Ida Cole Pippin. She was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church and she was a retired Dietician for Shelby County Schools in Tennessee.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday September 19, 2012 at McMillan Funeral Home with Elder Herman Clark and Elder Bennie Burcham. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.

Survivors are two daughters, Martha (Charles) Littleton of Oakland, TN and Sue Jean (Sam) Wood of Millington, TN; two sons John Gorden (Joan) Padgett of Mountain Home, AR and Donnie Ray (Clara) Padgett of Wetumpka, AL; one nephew Dr. Randy (Holly) Pippin of Germantown, TN; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by, her husband of 74 years Gorden Bilbo Padgett; her parents; one daughter, Eunice Yuvone Padgett; two brothers, Clyde and Eulous Pippin; two great-grandsons, Hayden and Kyle Padgett.

Visitation will be from 5:00PM to 7:30PM Tuesday September 18, 2012 and until service time on Wednesday at McMillan Funeral Home.
