Vertie May Tennyson, 85, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, TN. She was born May 20, 1932, to Ira and Laskie Reeves Samples. She was a homemaker and member of Wheeler Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 19, 2018, at Prentiss Memorial Gardens with Bro. Michael Shook officiating. Services are under the direction of McMillan Funeral Home.
She is survived by one daughter, Belinda Alexander; two sisters, Edna Glover and Dorothy Moore; four grandchildren, Amy Pazdera, Kimberley (Kevin) Constantino, Brian Holloway and Jared Holloway; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dexter Tennyson in 2011; one daughter, Janet Crowder; her parents; three sisters; and two brothers.
