Claire Jean Volrath

Mrs. Claire Jean Volrath, 80 of Boonville, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at her home. Claire was born on February 1, 1934 in the State of Colorado to Asa & Alva Bybee Lunsford. She was united in marriage to Roy Richard Volrath in June of 1951 in Odessa, Missouri and to this union 2 sons were born. Claire was employed by Cooper County Memorial Hospital as a Dietician Aid for over 25 years. She loved to read, cook and travel. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy on February 24, 2014, her sons, Richard & Gary Volrath, a granddaughter, Jessica Volrath and a great-granddaughter, Jada Pace. She is survived by 2 granddaughters, Cassandra Richards and her husband, Early, of Boonville and Samantha Volrath, of Macks Creek, Missouri, her brother, Bill Lunsford and 8 great-grandchildren. At Claire’s request her body was cremated under the direction of Thacher-Wood Funeral Home, Boonville, MO. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
