

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Thacher Funeral Home, 629 East Morgan Street, Boonville, Missouri. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Clark’s Fork Trinity Lutheran Church, Highway U, Boonville, Missouri. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Margaret Frances was born on Monday, September 1, 1930 to Walter & Emma (Pauge) Borgmann in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in the St. Louis area. Margaret was united in marriage to Earl John William Pethan on September 16, 1950 and became a Cooper county farmer’s wife. She was married to Hubert Shemwell in September 26, 1987. Margaret was Executive Director of the Boonville Housing Authority until her retirement in 2003.
She served at her church in numerous positions. She was secretary of the Cooper County Youth Fair Board for several years and served on the Habitat for Humanity Board.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl John William Pethan and Hubert Shemwell, a son, Russell Pethan, a son-in-law, Jon Campbell, her brother, Richard Borgmann and her sister, Justine Eskew.
Margaret is survived by her 2 sons Earl (Janet) Pethan, Jr., of Aurora, Colorado, and Daniel (Peggy) Pethan, of Prairie Home, MO., 2 daughters, Patricia Campbell, of Boonville, MO., and Kathleen (Jeff) Grindstaff, of Licking, MO, a step-daughter, Cindi (Russell) Bell, of Columbia, MO, a sister-in-law, Alvena Borgmann, 10 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express its gratitude for the care given to Margaret by Ashley Manor Care Center during the last days of her life.
