Reva May Mitchell

Reva May (Frederick) Mitchell, 84, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3 at the William Woods Funeral Home, Boonville. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Jan. 4 at Christ Church Episcopal, Boonville.

Reva was born in Montreal, Mo., May 15, 1935 to Earl and Beulah (Branch) Frederick. She was married to William Stanley Mitchell in 1961 and they had four children together. Reva worked at the Third National Bank and Boone County Bank as a bank teller and then finished her career with Hall and Riley Quarries as a bookkeeper. She loved the outdoors, fishing, gardening, traveling and most importantly spending time with her friends and family.

Reva gave her everything to her family and organizations she belonged to. For 15 years she was a devoted volunteer at Home Town Home Care and hospice. Reva was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of 1812, the Robert E. Lee Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and American Legion Auxiliary. Reva was a long time Warden of Christ Church Episcopal, and a member of a bible study group which she loved. Reva was a great mother and she kept her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren close throughout her life.

Reva is survived by her children: Dwight Mitchell of Boonville, Lisa (Jeff) Wyatt of New Franklin, Alena Stewart of Boonville and Madonna Mitchell of Boonville; grandchildren: Amanda (Tony) Maddex, Lindsay (Lane) Kilgore, Rebecca Mitchell, Scarlett (Travis) Carter, William (Kristin) Grimsley, Brian Grimsley, Jennifer (Micah) Hanson, Mary Stewart, Miranda (Michael) Keller and Mitchell (Brittany) Potter; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Reva was predeceased by her parents; husband; sister; Dorothy Chrisman and one grandchild.

Honorary pallbearers are Billy Grimsley, Brian Grimsley, Mitchell Potter, Lane Maddex, Kevin Chrisman, Tony Maddex and Jayden Keller.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Robert E. Lee Chapter, Scholarship Program or to Christ Church Episcopal, Boonville.
